“I was involved in a car accident a few years ago that caused damage to the muscles in and around my rib cage. My treatment consisted of chiropractic care and massage therapy. The treatment made such a difference in my life that I decided I wanted to learn how to make that kind of difference in the lives of others.”

Linda Stanley is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Medical Massage Practitioner. She is the owner of Heaven Sent Massage of Ellijay. She is a Graduate of Cohutta Healing Arts Institute (CHAI), and is a director over their student clinic. Linda has over 20 years of experience in Health Care and Medical Records. She is also a 2002 Graduate of Georgia NorthWestern (fromerly Coosa Valley Technical College), with a diploma in Business Office Management.

Leslie Byrd, LMT - Heaven Sent Massage of Ellijay“I have had many years of my life spent with chronic migraine. Additionally, a minor car accident in the early 2000s, followed by a fall in 2005, has contributed to chronic pain in my back and neck, and occasional issues with sciatic pain. I have seen the success massage can have not only in relaxation and stress reduction, but in managing and reducing chronic pain. It has been a long-time goal of mine to become a massage therapist to share my knowledge of pain conditions in helping others to manage or reduce the daily discomforts they may be experiencing.”

Leslie Byrd is a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduate of Cohutta Healing Arts Institute (CHAI). Leslie has over 15 years of personal experience with chronic pain and illness pathologies, and has developed a deep understanding of many chronic conditions, such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Chronic Migraine. Leslie continues her education by studying treatments for several conditions, as well as taking courses in techniques such Nueromuscular and Reflexology. It is her desire to assist others in finding relief, peace, and relaxation beyond the discomforts they may experience.

Blue Teal DotCatie Bryans, LMT

Catie first discovered amateur massage techniques while giving mini massages in chorus class(es) while in high school; a passion sparked for helping others in reducing their tension wit the application of comfortable pressure. This passion developed as Catie occasionally worked on friends and family members over the years, discovering that not only could she reduce their tension, but that she could also assist in alleviating some of their pain and discomforts!

Working in the very fast-paced environment of the corporate world for over 17 years provided Catie with a wide variety of experiences. Over time, however, finding ways to distress, and addressing her own self-care, became a challenge. Seeking and learning more about personal nutrition and health, trying and applying these applications, eventually led Catie to make a career change. This deliberation and reflection on her interests re-sparked Catie’s passion for massage.

Through a careful and thorough search for schools of massage, Catie discovered Cohutta Healing Arts Institute (CHAI). On top of giving their students over 50% of the state required hours of education, Catie learned many things about herself, experienced even more eye-opening experiences, and, surprisingly, had quite a few theories she had of health and wellness confirmed.

Therapeutic work has become a large passion of Catie’s – it goes beyond relieving muscle tension. Therapeutic work can get to the root of dysfunction and pain issues with the application of a wide variety of methods. Therapeutic massage typically has quicker results when applied with deeper pressure, which is not always comfortable for everyone. However, there are approaches to also make the session more relaxing for the client. Then there are times when a client just needs a good old-fashion relaxing Swedish massage. Catie utilizes her knowledge and skills of Therapeutic and Swedish massage to work with you in creating a treatment plan to best meet your session goals.
