Soothing, ethereal melodies and instrumentals are played in the treatment room,
helping to put your mind in a relaxed, almost sleepy, state. 

Dim room lighting with warm tones enhance the relaxed atmosphere. 
Table warmers (and often warm massage stones and/or steamed towels)
are often used to further relax tense muscles.

The Treatment Room is neat and clean, disinfected between each session,
and decorated to enhance a calm climate.

“I have had many years of my life spent with chronic migraine, pain & fatigue, and other symptoms from living with a genetic connective tissue disorder – Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobile Type). Additionally, a minor car accident in the early 2000s, followed by a fall in 2005, has contributed to chronic pain in my back, neck, and shoulders, and occasional issues with sciatic pain. I have seen the success massage can have not only in relaxation and stress reduction, but in managing and reducing chronic pain. It has been a long-time goal of mine to become a massage therapist to share my knowledge of pain conditions in helping others to manage or reduce the daily discomforts they may be experiencing.” 

Leslie Byrd is a graduate of Cohutta Healing Arts Institute and a Licensed Massage Therapist of 9 years. Leslie has over 25 years of personal experience with chronic pain and illness pathologies, and has developed a deep understanding of many chronic conditions, such as Fibromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Chronic Migraine.

Leslie continues her education by studying treatments for several conditions, as well as taking courses in techniques such as Neuromuscular Therapy and Reflexology. In 2020, Leslie was Certified to Teach Yoga through Yoga & Ayurveda Center; she uses this knowledge to recommend stretches and exercises for clients to complement the massage and bodywork they recieve.

Leslie has received two Certifications to practice Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder Technique) through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies. Leslie has studied Craniosacral Therapy and has completed the first two CST courses through the Upledger Institute.

It is Leslie’s desire to assist others in finding relief, peace, and relaxation beyond the discomforts they may experience.
